Water and sanitation: how can GHG emissions be monitored and reduced?

Astee has been working on greenhouse gas emissions in the water and sanitation sector since 2007. This presentation will introduce the methodological guide for GHG emissions accounting published in 2024, which provides water and wastewater utilities with a harmonized and practical framework to quantify their emissions. It will also present Astee’s ongoing work on a sectoral decarbonization roadmap.
